Regarding the case of arresting 4 subjects gambling on Bach Dang River, Hai Phong City, Traffic Police temporarily seized more than 3,500m3 of sand to continue to consolidate the case file to strictly handle the subjects.
On the evening of June 13, the Traffic Police Department informed about the results of expanding the verification of sand-carrying vehicles related to 4 gamblers arrested at 10:00 a.m. on June 11 in the Bach Dang River area, Dong Hai 1 Ward, Hai An District, Hai Phong City.
The working group of the Department of Patrol Guidance, Control and Combat against Crime on Inland Waterways, the Traffic Police Department coordinated with the Traffic Police Department of Hai Phong City Police to hand over the subjects to Hai An District Police, temporarily detain them, investigate and handle them according to the provisions of law.
Continuing to expand the verification, the Department of Patrol Guidance, Control and Crime Prevention on Inland Waterways, the Traffic Police Department and the Traffic Police Department of Hai Phong City Police clarified that more than 3,500m3 of sand on ships HN-2360; PT-2814; NB-8884; HN-2372 did not have invoices or documents proving legal origin.
The working group handed over all documents, vehicles and goods to the Traffic Police Department of Hai Phong City Police to receive and handle according to their authority.
Implementing the plan to strengthen the prevention, fight and handling of crimes and law violations in the exploitation, gathering, trading and transportation of minerals for construction materials and filling materials on traffic routes, on June 11, the working group of the Department of Guidance on Patrolling, Controlling and Fighting Crime on Inland Waterways coordinated with the Traffic Police Department, Hai Phong City Police and other functional forces to inspect and arrest 4 cases of gambling on ships anchored on the Bach Dang River.
Accordingly, at 10:00 a.m. on June 11, at the ship HN-2360 anchored on the Bach Dang River in Dong Hai 1 Ward, Hai An District, the Working Group caught 4 cases of gambling in the form of playing sam (loc) for money.
This group includes: TVT (born in 1977, residing in Hanoi); NNT (born in 1988, residing in Phu Tho); CVD (born in 1975, residing in Hanoi) and NAT (born in 1984, residing in Phu Tho).
At the scene, the police seized a deck of 52 playing cards and a total of 5.71 million VND used for gambling. When working with the police, the four above cases confessed to gambling from around 9:30 a.m. the same day on the HN-2360 train.
The working group agreed to hand over all documents, evidence and 4 subjects to the Criminal Police Team, Hai An District Police to receive, prepare initial records, issue a decision to temporarily detain, continue investigation and handle according to authority.
