On the morning of April 10, in Ha Giang City, Ha Giang Newspaper celebrated its 60th anniversary and published its first issue (April 13, 1964 - April 13, 2024).
The Ha Giang News was published at the end of 1951 to provide timely information on the leadership of the Party Committee, the provincial government and the activities taking place in the area, which was concentrating its efforts on the Viet Bac resistance base and the whole country in the resistance war against the French colonialists. By 1964, the Ha Giang News had been published for 13 years, reaching grassroots Party cells, villages, agencies in the province and districts; informing the people about political, socio-economic and national defense and security activities.
On April 13, 1964, the Standing Committee of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 11-NQ/TU on "the work of the Ha Giang Newspaper and the news bulletins of a number of sectors in the province". Based on the functions and tasks of the local press and the results of the activities of the Ha Giang News, the Standing Committee of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee decided to "officially establish the newspaper agency of the Vietnam Workers' Party Committee of Ha Giang Province, named Ha Giang Newspaper".
Since the historic milestone of April 13, 1964, Ha Giang Newspaper has gradually developed along with the development of Ha Giang. The newspaper has constantly innovated, built an increasingly modern editorial office; created multimedia journalism works; provided information on many digital platforms... Since 2020, Ha Giang Newspaper has experimented with live TV and radio programs on electronic newspapers and social networks.
Ha Giang Newspaper (printed newspaper) is currently published 5 times a week with a circulation of over 9,000 copies per time. Ha Giang Newspaper online is updated 24/7. On average, Ha Giang Newspaper online has about 20,000 - 30,000 visitors per day.
