Recently, the website known as the "world culinary map" Taste Atlas has just announced a list of 100 most famous Asian dishes, including Vietnamese banh mi and pho.
Taste Atlas describes: "Banh mi is a famous Vietnamese sandwich, in which meat and pate are ingredients with elements of French culinary culture, while coriander, chili and pickles reflect Vietnamese tastes."

CNN also listed banh mi as one of the 24 best sandwiches in the world in a list published on April 20. According to the newspaper, tourists can easily find banh mi on food carts on almost every street corner in Ho Chi Minh City and throughout Vietnam. Banh mi is not only a popular dish in the country but is also known and loved by many foreign tourists.
Banh mi is usually filled with pork, pork sausage, shredded pickled carrots, coriander and various sauces. Depending on the region, visitors can enjoy many types of banh mi with different fillings. CNN commented: “Vietnamese banh mi is crispy, fresh and extremely delicious.”
As for pho, Taste Atlas commented that pho is one of the delicious and popular dishes in Vietnam. This is also a street food that represents the Vietnamese lifestyle and is most loved in the West because of its delicious, unique flavor, simplicity, and elegance. Although classified as a soup, pho is served as a main dish.
