The 2nd Vietnam Bread Festival will take place from May 17 to 19, with many new features, including setting a record of more than 150 bread dishes displayed on a giant bread model, which will be the highlight of the festival.
At the press conference providing information about the 2nd Vietnam Bread Festival, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, said that this year the festival has many new features with many attractive spaces for the public to visit and experience.
Specifically, the space of the dragon-shaped welcome gate will be made of bread, expressed by artisans and bakers with the meaning of the aspiration to reach far of Vietnamese bread. The space to experience the history of the formation and development of Vietnamese bread will display bread making tools, images and articles about Vietnamese bread through the ages, bread past and present, a wall of ingredients and spices for making bread...
"This year's festival also has a space of wheat fields leading to the central stage with a windmill, a fairy garden with animals made from bread, an area to experience the bread making process and folk games for children... In particular, the space where chefs perform sets a record of 150 dishes with bread displayed on a giant bread model. The dishes show diversity made from typical products of localities across the country, thereby creating a delicious and unique Vietnamese bread dish," Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh added.
In addition to the activities of displaying and promoting bread, there will also be seminars on the topic "Vietnamese bread with tourism and world cuisine". The content of the seminars focuses on introducing the differences between Vietnamese bread and other types of bread in the world; the process of forming Vietnamese bread helps affirm that bread is a dish with a strong Vietnamese cultural identity, the role of the overseas Vietnamese community has contributed to strongly spreading Vietnamese bread. In addition, the organizers will also carry out start-up activities from bread carts for women and students of the bakery industry, experience making bread from rice flour, cereals, combined with Vietnamese agricultural products...
The 2nd Vietnam Bread Festival will take place at Le Van Tam Park, Hai Ba Trung Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City with nearly 150 booths including famous bread brands over 50 years old, restaurants serving bread side dishes, bakeries, suppliers of spices, equipment for bread making technology. During the 3 days of the festival from May 17-19, the organizers expect to welcome 100,000 visitors to visit and experience.
According to the organizers, the first Vietnamese Bread Festival in 2023 has received enthusiastic response from the public, becoming a widespread culinary cultural event and attracting more than 100,000 visitors, experiencers, and shoppers. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has identified this as one of the major festivals held annually to attract tourists to the city.
