According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1:00 p.m. on September 16, the center of the tropical depression was located at about 17.1 degrees North latitude; 123.9 degrees East longitude, in the sea east of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6 - 7 (39 - 61 km/h), gusting to level 9; moving mainly west at about 15 km/h.

Forecast until 13:00 on September 17, the tropical depression will move westward, speed 15 - 20km/h, moving into the East Sea, position 16.7 N-119.5E; in the sea area east of the North East Sea, the intensity of the tropical depression is strong level 7, gust level 9, danger area 15.0N-19.0N; east of longitude 117.5E; natural disaster risk level 3, affected area east of the North East Sea.

At 1:00 p.m. on September 18, the tropical depression moved in the West-Southwest direction, at a speed of about 20km/h, strengthening into a storm, located at 15.7N-115.7E; about 350km East-Southeast of Hoang Sa archipelago, storm intensity level 8, gust level 10, danger zone 14.0N-18.0N; 114.0E-120.0E, disaster risk level 3, affected area is the North East Sea, north of the central East Sea.

In the next 48 to 72 hours, the storm is likely to change direction, moving in a West Northwest direction, traveling 10 - 15km per hour.

From the morning of September 17, the eastern sea of ​​the North East Sea will have heavy showers and thunderstorms, strong winds of level 7 (50 - 61 km/h), gusts of level 9 (75 - 88 km/h), and rough seas.

The eastern sea area of ​​the North East Sea has waves 2 - 4 m high. Ships operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by strong winds and large waves.
