The culinary website Taste Atlas announced a list of the 100 best pork dishes in the world, including 4 Vietnamese dishes.
In the list of "100 best rated pork dishes" up to the end of October 2023, more than 479,100 votes were received.
Notably, four Vietnamese pork dishes were also honored in this ranking. They are beef noodle soup with pig's feet, fried spring rolls, broken rice, and meatloaf.
1. Beef noodle soup with pork leg
Bun bo hoc heo or also known as bun bo Hue because the dish originated from Hue. This nutritious dish is said to be strongly influenced by ancient royal cuisine, so the broth is made from pork and beef bone broth, the main ingredients are thick vermicelli, stewed pork leg, beef, meatballs...
To enhance the flavor, people often eat it with lettuce and herbs depending on the region.
2. Fried spring rolls
The main feature of these delicious spring rolls is the shrimp and pork filling, wrapped in soft rice paper. The essence of fried spring rolls is the sweet and sour dipping sauce, served with lettuce and seasonal herbs.
3. Broken rice
A traditional dish often sold as street food, today it is a signature dish in Ho Chi Minh City.
Broken rice is cooked from broken and imperfect rice grains removed after the milling process.
Normally, broken rice is served with fried eggs, shredded pork skin, grilled pork ribs, fried fish cakes... and has chopped green onions and herbs for decoration to enhance the flavor.
4. Meatloaf
Meatloaf is always present in world culinary rankings. In the top 100 most delicious pork dishes in the world, bread is ranked 8th.
With a crispy bread crust, fillings made from many types of pork such as grilled pork slices, pork belly, ham, sausage, pork sausage accompanied by pate, pickled carrots, cucumbers, and sauce... the meatloaf has an irresistible delicious flavor, conquering the taste buds of even the most fastidious people.
The aim of the ranking is to promote local specialties, inspire pride in traditional dishes and arouse curiosity about dishes that tourists have never tried.
