A couple in Bac Lieu died, and their son is being treated in hospital, after consuming white wine and food prepared by the family at a Tet party.
On February 14, Secretary of the Chau Hung Town Party Committee (Vinh Loi District, Bac Lieu Province) Tran Thanh Tuan said that a suspected alcohol poisoning case had just occurred in the area, causing 2 deaths.
According to initial information, on February 9 and 10 (ie the 30th and 1st of Tet), Mr. TVT's family (64 years old) held a party, attended by Mrs. TMT (62 years old, Mr. T's wife), TVTr. (33 years old, Mr. T's son) and some other people. At the party, everyone used white wine and food prepared by Mr. T's family.
On the afternoon of February 11, Mr. T.'s wife was tired and pale, so her family took her to the hospital for emergency treatment. On the afternoon of February 12, Mr. T. continued to be tired and had difficulty breathing, so he was hospitalized.
That same evening, Mr. T.'s son showed similar symptoms to his father and was also admitted to the hospital. By noon on February 13, Mr. T. and his wife had died; Mr. T.'s son is still being treated at the hospital.
Immediately after the incident, local authorities organized to gather information, visit and encourage the victim's family.
