10 most searched destinations by Vietnamese people in 2022

The list of prominent search trends in the field of tourism among Vietnamese people in 2022 was announced by Google Vietnam on December 8 based on data from the Google Trends measurement tool. Accordingly, keywords related to tourism and destinations are searched a lot, showing a significant recovery of the tourism industry after the pandemic, Google's report said.

Ha Long ranked first, the next names mentioned in turn are Thuy Chau tourist area (Binh Duong), Phu Yen, Ninh Binh, Quy Nhon, Can Tho, Da Lat, the West, Phu Quoc, Tien Son tourist area (Dong Nai).

The highest number of searches for coastal cities such as Ha Long, Quy Nhon, Phu Yen... is highest during the summer. Meanwhile, other places not near the sea such as Da Lat, Can Tho... are concentrated during the Lunar New Year, late January, early February.

According to Google Trends, the demand for the keyword "travel" in 2022 is equal to the time before the pandemic. Related keywords such as "airline tickets" also increased by 200% compared to the end of 2021.

After Vietnam opened its doors to international visitors from March 15, people were able to travel abroad again, and the phrase "how to make a passport online" was also searched a lot. The demand for international travel also increased compared to the same period last year. July 25 recorded a 2,400% increase - the highest this year in the number of searches for international destinations and flights.
