At 5:30 a.m. on August 23, the Traffic and Order Police Team (Thanh Ha District Police) discovered 3 container truck drivers entering the prohibited road of Quang Thanh Bridge.
Traffic police officers of Thanh Ha District Police asked driver Nguyen Van Hung to present his documents.
The police stopped the vehicles and asked the drivers to show their papers, but by around 8 o'clock only two drivers cooperated.
The drivers who violated the law include: Phan Van Hoan (born in 1976, in Quang Ninh) driving container truck 15C16545 trailer 16R2114; Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1990, in Thai Binh) driving container truck 15C30858 pulling trailer 15R0249, each was fined 2.5 million VND and had his driver's license revoked for 2 months. These vehicles were traveling from Hai Phong to Thanh Ha.
As for driver Pham Quy Mao (born in 1987, in Hai Phong), driving container truck 15C28971 pulling trailer 15R13299, until the afternoon of the same day, he still did not present his documents for inspection by the authorities. Thanh Ha District Police hired a rescue vehicle to bring the container truck and trailer to Thanh Ha bus station to await processing.
Previously, the Hai Duong Department of Transport had announced a ban on trucks with 3 axles on Quang Thanh Bridge and Provincial Road 390 leading to Quang Thanh Bridge. However, many drivers still deliberately violated the regulations.
