Social networks do not require authentication with citizen identification
Social networks are not allowed to ask for a photo of a citizen's identity card to verify an account. This is one of the new regulations in the draft Law on Personal Data Protection.
How to authenticate account identity of some popular social networks in Vietnam
From today, social media users in Vietnam must authenticate their accounts with phone numbers or personal identification codes to be allowed to post, comment, livestream, and share information.
Some banks and e-wallets do not allow online money transfers without biometric authentication.
