Vietnam resolutely protests and demands that Taiwan (China) not repeat similar violations in the waters around Ba Binh, part of Vietnam's Truong Sa archipelago.
On August 28, in response to a reporter's question about Vietnam's reaction to Taiwan conducting live-fire drills in the waters surrounding Ba Binh, part of Vietnam's Truong Sa archipelago, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated:
"Organizing live-fire drills in the waters surrounding Ba Binh in Vietnam's Truong Sa archipelago is a serious violation of Vietnam's territorial sovereignty over the archipelago; threatening peace, stability, safety and maritime security; causing tension and further complicating the situation in the East Sea.
Vietnam resolutely protests and requests that Taiwan not repeat similar violations."
