The quality of photos taken by Vietnamese authors in international competitions has long been highly appreciated. Vietnam is one of the countries with a strongly developed photography industry.

Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Tran Thanh Lam and Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong presented awards to the artists.

On the afternoon of March 13, at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam (Hanoi), the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA) held the award ceremony and opening exhibition of the 12th International Art Photography Competition in 2023 in Vietnam (VN-23).

Sponsored by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) and the French Image Without Borders Association (ISF), the competition was launched on September 12, 2022 and will close on January 10, 2023.

Speaking at the event, photographer Tran Thi Thu Dong, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, President of VAPA, emphasized: “The rate of photos participating in the exhibition of “VN-23” is very strict, accounting for only 12.29% of the total number of photos participating in the contest, which has become a big challenge and increasingly attracts domestic and international photographers. Photos by authors in countries and territories with strong photography development such as Poland, Portugal... are of quite good quality, so the rate of photos exhibited and winning awards is quite high compared to the number of photos entered. The quality of photos by Vietnamese authors participating in international competitions has long been highly appreciated. Vietnam is one of the countries with a strong photography development”.

With 4 themes: Color Freedom, Monochrome Freedom, Children and Ideas, VN-23 attracted 10,330 works from 1,079 participating authors from 32 countries and territories.

Vietnam has 4 works winning gold medals in different genres and topics.

Evaluated independently online by 4 prestigious jury panels with high titles in Vietnam and internationally. Each panel has 2 international judges and 1 Vietnamese judge, ensuring objectivity.
