Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang emphasized that during his lifetime, beloved President Ho Chi Minh always paid attention to and focused on planting trees and afforestation, beautifying the landscape and creating healthy living conditions, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people. The tree planting movement launched by Uncle Ho has been increasingly widely responded to by the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people, including Hai Duong province.

Taking to heart Uncle Ho's teachings and implementing the Project "Planting one billion trees in the period of 2021-2025" approved by the Prime Minister, in recent years, officials and people of Hai Duong province have planted hundreds of hectares of forest, thousands of square meters of grass, tens of thousands of trees of all kinds, and millions of fruit trees. Many areas of land have been converted, planting trees suitable to the climate and soil conditions of each district, town, and city in the province... These practical works have been and are making an important contribution to promoting socio-economic development, beautifying the landscape, improving the environment, and improving the quality of people's lives.

However, the movement of planting trees for the people, the work of forest protection, fire prevention and fighting and forest development still has limitations. Some local Party committees and authorities have not really paid attention to the work of planting forests, fruit trees, and greening bare land. The organization of tree planting launching ceremonies in some places is still a formality and not very effective. The work of caring for and protecting trees after planting has not been paid regular attention, leading to low growth and development rates in some places, which need to be promptly corrected.

The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that today, the whole world is facing global climate change, natural disasters such as storms and floods are developing abnormally, with increasingly destructive power, threatening human life. Sustainable economic development must go hand in hand with environmental protection, which has become a vital requirement for every country. Planting trees, afforesting, and protecting the living environment is increasingly of great strategic significance and extremely important.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, workers and all people in the province to continue to implement Uncle Ho's teaching: "For the benefit of ten years, we must plant trees, for the benefit of a hundred years, we must cultivate people". Be more active in planting trees and afforestation, considering this a cultural beauty of each person, each family, each organization and the whole society. Identify the task of planting trees and afforestation as the responsibility and obligation of Party committees, authorities, organizations and people. All levels and sectors must focus on doing a good job of propaganda, education and mobilizing people to clearly understand the meaning and benefits of planting trees and afforestation and actively participate from the first days of spring.

At the ceremony, Major General Luong Van Kiem, Deputy Commander of Military Region 3, launched the Tree Planting Festival for the entire force. Accordingly, in 2023, the armed forces of the military region strive to plant 233,000 trees of all kinds and 30 hectares of forest. Continue to take good care of and protect trees in units, participate in forest planting and protection, making an important contribution to building green - clean - beautiful regular barracks, consolidating and improving the quality of training grounds and training grounds, building a strong and comprehensive unit, a typical model, a clean and strong cultural environment...

In 2022, Hai Duong and Military Region 3 have successfully implemented the tree planting and afforestation movement following Uncle Ho's teachings. Hai Duong province has converted 268.6 hectares of fruit trees on production forest land that no longer has economic value to forestry trees, planted 99 hectares of new forests after exploitation and over 1 million scattered trees. Many roads have trees planted on both sides of the road to create landscapes and traffic safety. Many urban areas and cities in the province have organized tree planting, achieving a growth rate of 5-10%/year.

The Military Region 3 Command has issued a directive clearly defining the goal for the 2021-2025 period to strive to plant 983,967 trees of all kinds, including 900,237 timber trees, 83,730 fruit trees, and 304.4 hectares of forest. In 2022, the Military Region's armed forces planted 460,450 trees of all kinds and 140 hectares of forest.

Also at the ceremony, the leader of the People's Committee of Chi Linh City spoke in response to the launching ceremony, demonstrating determination in leadership, direction, propaganda, and mobilizing cadres and people to actively respond to the Tree Planting Festival.
