The graceful ao dai, a harmonious combination of tradition and modernity, enhanced the beauty of Hai Duong female union members. For the first time, they shone on the big stage at the Ao Dai Talent and Charm Contest.
Impressive on the red carpet
The talent and charm contest in Ao Dai organized by the Provincial Labor Federation more than a week ago left many unforgettable impressions.
The Ao Dai collection of Hai Duong City Trade Union was inspired by the transformation of the trade union organization. The most impressive part of the performance of Hai Duong City female union members was the decorative motifs on each flap of the Ao Dai, all drawn by the skillful hands of female union members. The motifs represent modern constructions with the symbol of the city, the solidarity of the working class joining hands to build a strong trade union organization with many aspirations for innovation.
The unique feature of the contest is that the Ao Dai not only preserves the traditional beauty but also honors typical products of the homeland. At the contest, Kinh Mon Town Union has delicately put OCOP products such as guava, onion, garlic, sticky rice, historical relics on the Ao Dai. The graceful steps on the catwalk along with the typical Vietnamese conical hat have created an attractive stage, attracting viewers.
The Ao Dai collection of the Provincial Civil Servants’ Union members also attracts viewers by the interweaving of dragon and phoenix motifs with modern colors, like unique works of art. Everyone becomes more beautiful in the Ao Dai.
Although it was the first time the contest was held on a large scale, it brought professionalism and satisfaction to the audience. Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen, an audience member who came to cheer on the contest, said she was very satisfied with the performances. To have such performances, the teams must have prepared and invested carefully in costumes as well as performance style. Each unit and each contestant had different designs and colors, and especially highlighted the theme.
Many units have invested in renewing the design, creating their own style in color but still maintaining the soul of the traditional Vietnamese ao dai. Just by looking at the ao dai, viewers can immediately recognize the brand and unique style of each locality and unit. Each female union member wearing ao dai is like a blooming flower in a colorful flower garden, creating the brilliant, graceful, dynamic and traditional beauty of Hai Duong women.
feat of showing
On a large stage, the performances are all professionally invested and staged by units, many units hire choreographers, and costumes are ordered from famous designers. According to Ms. Do Thi Mai Hue, Head of the Women's Union of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (the unit representing the Provincial Civil Servants' Union participating in the contest), right after receiving the plan from the higher-level union about the contest, she quickly selected bright faces and standard figures to participate. The whole group consulted many designers, modelers and came up with ideas for their performance. Despite the busy year-end work, everyone took the time to practice after hours. From the awkward steps to confidently walking on the red carpet with expressive charisma. The presenter for the selected collection had a gentle, warm, and fluent voice. On the day of the contest, the women had to go to makeup at 3am so that they would have time to practice again to become fluent. Therefore, the performance of the Provincial Civil Servants' Union is considered a professional Ao Dai beauty pageant, creating sublimation and radiance for each contestant.
The first prize winner at the recent Ao Dai Talent Contest was the Hai Duong Branch of the State Bank of Vietnam. In the more than 70 years of development of the industry, Ao Dai is not only a formal dress, but also a uniform of the unit by banks. The Ao Dai is not only familiar to every woman in the banking industry but also honors beauty, shows professionalism, standards but is also very modern, creative, suitable for the new era. With a unique performance from many different colors of Ao Dai of the banks, the girls of the industry showed their intelligence in the talent contest, winning absolute points from the judges.
Mr. Do Van Sanh, Head of the Propaganda and Women's Union (Provincial Labor Federation) said that the contest has contributed to honoring women when wearing the ao dai. In recent years, the Hai Duong Trade Union and the Provincial Women's Union have regularly coordinated to organize ao dai contests from the grassroots level. Up to now, the ao dai has become an indispensable outfit during holidays and Tet for female union members in many units.
