U23 Indonesia dominates AFC's vote, U23 Vietnam's masterpiece only gets 2%

Before the quarter-finals of the AFC U23 Championship, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) released a list of the 8 best goals of the group stage. Vietnam U23 contributed 2 nominations in the vote, which were the goals scored by Nguyen Van Tung (against Kuwait U23) and Khuat Van Khang (against Malaysia U23).

Although there were 2 representatives participating in the vote for the best goal, the percentage of votes for U23 Vietnam was only a minority compared to U23 Indonesia. The total number of votes for Van Tung and Van Khang was only 2%.

Nguyen Van Tung's goal in the first half of the match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Kuwait was the first goal of U23 Vietnam in the tournament. Nguyen Van Truong made a pass that broke through the opponent's defense for his teammate to finish.

The second nomination of U23 Vietnam is the goal of Khuat Van Khang in the 39th minute of the match against U23 Malaysia. Despite the unfavorable distance and angle, the player of The Cong Viettel Club still executed a beautiful free kick with his left foot, sending the ball to the far corner of the U23 Malaysia goal, leaving the opposing goalkeeper helpless.

However, Van Khang's masterpiece still has a modest number of votes and only accounts for 2% as of noon today, April 25.

Van Tung and Van Khang's strong opponent in this vote is Witan Sulaeman, who is dominating the remaining nominees on the list with 97% of the total votes.

Witan Sulaeman's goal was scored in the 40th minute of the match between Jordan U23 and Indonesia U23. Marselino Ferdinan quickly coordinated with Rizky Ridho on the right wing before passing the ball to Witan Sulaeman. The star penetrated the penalty area, beautifully flicked the inside of his left foot to defeat goalkeeper Ahmad Juaidi.

In addition to Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Van Tung and Witan Sulaeman, the nomination list also has 5 more goals. Of these 5 nominations, except for Alibek Davronov's goal (minute 32, group D between U23 Kuwait and U23 Uzbekistan) which has 1% of the votes, the other goals have not received any votes.

The vote for the best goal of the AFC U23 Championship Finals will end at 9pm today, April 25, Vietnam time.
