Cuban media pays tribute to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's contributions

July 20 is the first day of mourning in Cuba for General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.

All of Cuba's mainstream media carried stories about the passing of a great brother and friend of the Cuban people.

Articles “An irreparable loss for Cuba,” “Vietnam loses a world-class leader” Many news and articles about the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong were published on the front pages of online newspapers such as Grama, Prensa Latina, CAN, Cubadebate, Radiorebelde, Radiohc, Cubasi and Radioreloj.

The news and articles also quoted or quoted verbatim the condolences of General Raúl Castro Ruz and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent to President To Lam.

Cuban leaders also affirmed their steadfast will to continue strengthening the fraternal relationship between Cuba and Vietnam.

According to Cuban media, throughout his long and successful political career, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has been one of the enthusiastic promoters of the special brotherly relationship and mutual trust between the Party, National Assembly, Government and people of Cuba and Vietnam.

On July 19, Cuba's online newspaper cubadebate.cu published an article by Dr. Ruvislei González Saez, praising the great contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the country's development.

Dr. Ruvislei González assessed that there are few leaders like General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong who possess the capacity to be both a political strategist and an excellent theorist of the socio-political system leading the country and is very loved by the people.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is the only senior leader of Vietnam to hold office for three consecutive terms since the beginning of the Doi Moi process, thanks to his excellent leadership.

His theoretical thinking has been applied in practice and achieved important results in the process of socialist transformation in Vietnam.

The author emphasizes that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is one of the most prominent Vietnamese politicians in the field of theory, making significant contributions to understanding complex issues associated with building socialism with the historical and cultural characteristics of the country.

He visited Cuba many times, but especially in 2018, when he expressed that “this is not a visit but a return to reunite with my brothers.”
