The University of Transport held a ceremony to celebrate its 65th anniversary of undergraduate training and announced two new strategic training program groups.
Accordingly, two new strategic training program groups of the school were introduced: Modern Railway and Semiconductor - key science and technology fields of the country in the new period.
Specifically, the University of Transport opens 7 new training programs in the field of urban railways and high-speed railways, including: High-speed railway major - Traffic construction engineering major - engineer level; Railway and urban railway major - Traffic construction engineering major - engineer level; High-speed railway vehicle engineering major - Mechanical power engineering major - engineer level; High-speed railway and urban railway electrical systems major - Electrical engineering major - engineer level; Modern railway control and signal information major - Control and automation engineering major - engineer level; Urban railway exploitation and management major - Transport exploitation major - bachelor level; High-speed railway exploitation and management major - Transport exploitation major - bachelor level.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, President of the University of Transport, said: “These programs simultaneously refer to and absorb advanced training models from Europe, Japan, Korea and China; integrate 4.0 technology, IoT, artificial intelligence (AI),... decode core technologies in the railway sector; increase the duration of internships, experiments and experiments. The program is designed in a practical direction, ensuring that graduates have the ability to work immediately, ready to participate and effectively contribute to key national projects, especially the North-South high-speed railway project, expected to start construction in December 2026”.
In the field of microchips and semiconductors, the school has updated, completed and issued a training program for talented semiconductor chip engineers, to serve the semiconductor industry development strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050. This program is based on the foundation of Electronic Engineering and Industrial Informatics.
On this occasion, the school also received quality accreditation certificates for 5 undergraduate programs (Applied Mathematics, Hydraulic Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Economics, Environmental Engineering); 1 master's program (Economic Management) and 3 programs according to AUN-QA international standards (Mechanical Engineering, Vietnam - UK High Quality Construction Economics, Vietnam - UK High Quality General Accounting).
The University of Transport was selected as one of 18 institutions prioritized for budget investment to establish and upgrade laboratories to serve the training of human resources in the semiconductor industry, according to the Prime Minister's decision. According to the planning of the university network for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, the University of Transport was also identified as one of five national key universities in engineering and technology.
