On March 1, the People's Court of Cam Giang district (Hai Duong) tried two subjects for theft and consumption of property obtained by others through crime.
According to the indictment, at around 3:30 p.m. on December 10, 2023, taking advantage of people's carelessness, Giap Van Hung (born in 1986, residing in Trung Thanh village, Lam Cot commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang) sneaked into the yard of Mr. Pham Van H.'s house in Chi Mai village, Tan Truong commune (Cam Giang) to steal a motorbike.
Hung then took the motorbike to the motorbike repair shop of Nguyen Tien Cuong (born in 1987, in Hong Phuc village, Song Van commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang) to sell. Cuong knew that the motorbike Hung was selling was stolen property but still agreed to buy it for 1.5 million VND.
According to the property valuation results, the motorbike Hung stole is worth 23.5 million VND.
At the end of the trial, the court sentenced Hung to 22 months in prison for theft of property; Cuong to 13 months in prison for receiving property obtained through criminal acts.
