According to the resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Hai Duong City will merge Le Thanh Nghi and Pham Ngu Lao wards into Le Thanh Nghi ward.
On the morning of November 12, the People's Committee of Hai Duong City held a conference to announce Resolution No. 1250 dated October 24, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Hai Duong province for the period 2023-2025.
Comrades: Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the conference.
According to the resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Hai Duong City will merge Le Thanh Nghi and Pham Ngu Lao wards into Le Thanh Nghi ward.
The new Le Thanh Nghi ward has a natural area of 2.1km2 and population of 26,743 people, officially put into operation from December 1, 2024.
The new Le Thanh Nghi ward headquarters is located at the current Le Thanh Nghi ward headquarters. The total area is over 1,200 m2The land of Pham Ngu Lao ward headquarters will be converted into public green space and implemented in 2025.
At the conference, comrade Le Dinh Long, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Hai Duong City Party Committee requested Party committees at all levels, party organizations, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the city to continue to propagate, disseminate and thoroughly grasp to create high consensus and unity.
Carry out the arrangement and consolidation of the organizational apparatus and staff to ensure that they meet the requirements of preparing for the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term and the election of People's Council delegates at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. Direct the arrangement, management and use of headquarters and public assets of agencies and units after the arrangement in accordance with regulations, ensuring savings and efficiency, and avoiding waste of public assets.

After rearranging the above 2 wards, Hai Duong city has 24 commune-level administrative units, including 18 wards and 6 communes.
