General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sends New Year greetings to Laos and Cambodia

On the occasion of Laos' Bunpimay New Year and Cambodia's Chol Chnam Thmay New Year, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong sent a letter and a flower basket of congratulations to Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Mr. Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The content of the congratulatory letter from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith reads:

"On the occasion of the traditional Lao New Year (Bunpimay), on behalf of the Party, State and People of Vietnam, I would like to send to you and the leaders of the Lao Party, State and People my warm comradely and brotherly feelings and best wishes.

Wishing comrade Thongloun Sisoulith and other leaders of the Lao Party and State, along with their families, a new year filled with good health, happiness, peace, prosperity, and continued success.

The Party, State and people of Vietnam congratulate Laos on the important achievements in various fields in recent times. We firmly believe that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party headed by you, the administration of the Government, and the supervision of the National Assembly, the Lao country and people will overcome difficulties, continue to gain many new and greater achievements in the renovation process, successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, successfully organize Party Congresses at all levels towards the 12th National Party Congress. Vietnam supports Laos in fulfilling its responsibilities and roles as ASEAN Chair and AIPA Chair in 2024, contributing to enhancing Laos' position in the region and the world.

The content of the congratulatory letter from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Sen on the occasion of the traditional New Year and being elected President by the 5th Cambodian Senate, reads:

"On the occasion of the traditional Cambodian New Year (Chol Chnam Thmay), on behalf of the Party, State and People of Vietnam, I wish Comrade Hun Sen and all leaders of the Cambodian People's Party, the State and the people of Cambodia a new year of good health, happiness, peace, prosperity and continued achievements. I especially congratulate Comrade Hun Sen on being elected by the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia as President of the Senate for the 2024-2030 term. We believe that he will successfully fulfill his noble mission.

The Party, State and People of Vietnam congratulate Cambodia on the great and important achievements in all fields in recent times. We firmly believe that under the wise reign of King Norodom Sihamoni, the leadership of the Senate, the National Assembly and the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia with the CPP as the core, the Cambodian people will continue to gain many new and greater achievements in the cause of protecting, building and developing the country, successfully implementing the Party Platform for the 2023-2028 period, and successfully organizing the election of the Capital/Provincial, City/District and Town Councils for the 4th term.

Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Committee Le Hoai Trung sent congratulatory letters to Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Thongsavanh Phomvihane and Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Committee of the Cambodian People's Party Prak Sokhonn.
