On January 8, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping called for accelerating the party's self-reform and doing well in the long-standing and arduous anti-corruption campaign.
Xi Jinping, who is also Chinese President and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks in a speech at the third plenary session of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) in Beijing.
The leader stressed that after persistent anti-corruption efforts over the past 10 years, the fight against corruption in China has achieved great victories, but the situation remains "serious and complicated".
Therefore, according to him, it is necessary to fully understand new developments in the fight against corruption as well as the causes and conditions for the emergence of corruption.
