General Secretary and President To Lam pays tribute to the late musician Van Cao and the late painter Bui Trang Chuoc

In the warm and friendly atmosphere of Independence Day, General Secretary and President To Lam burned incense to pay tribute to the late musician Van Cao and presented gifts to Mrs. Nghiem Thuy Bang, the late musician's wife, and his children and grandchildren.

Speaking to the family, the General Secretary and President expressed his gratitude for the great contributions of the late musician Van Cao to the Vietnamese revolution; affirming that in addition to the National Anthem, musician Van Cao also had many other works and songs of important significance, with great appeals, appeals and encouragement, contributing significantly to building the great national unity bloc.

The General Secretary and President presented the late musician Van Cao's wife and family with a portrait of Uncle Ho, sincerely inquired and wished the late musician's wife good health, to be a support for her children and grandchildren, and to contribute more to the country.

The wife of the late musician Van Cao expressed her emotion and honor to welcome the General Secretary and President to visit on the National Day and also the time 80 years ago when the song “Tien Quan Ca” was written. Musician Van Cao, whose real name is Nguyen Van Cao, was born on November 15, 1923, in Hai Phong in a family of civil servants. He is the author of the song “Tien Quan Ca” - the National Anthem of Vietnam with sacred and heroic melodies. The song was born with memories of Vietnam in the period before the August Revolution and the author’s unforgettable memories.

His name is familiar to the public through many works that have lasted through the years, of which the most famous are “Ben Xuan”, “Suoi Mo”, “Thien Thai”, “Truong Chi”, “Truong Ca Song Lo”, “Tien Ve Ha Noi”… Musician Van Cao is one of the first artists to be awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize. His contributions have been recognized by the Party and the State with many noble awards, including the First Class Resistance Medal, Third Class Independence Medal, First Class Independence Medal, Ho Chi Minh Medal…

Next, General Secretary and President To Lam visited the family of the late painter Bui Trang Chuoc, author of the national emblem of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

General Secretary and President To Lam kindly asked about the family's life and said that on the occasion of National Day, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, he came to burn incense to commemorate and express gratitude for the great contributions of painter Bui Trang Chuoc to the country.

The General Secretary and President affirmed that the works of artist Bui Trang Chuoc are all meticulous, detailed, highly general, and attractive. In addition to drawing the National Emblem, artist Bui Trang Chuoc also designed medals and logos of many industries. The works all have unique features, demonstrating the artist's dedication and talent.

The General Secretary and President emphasized that artist Bui Trang Chuoc is one of the outstanding people in the generation who have contributed to the country. The artist's merits and contributions, especially the design of the National Emblem, are not only a symbol of the Vietnamese people but are also highly appreciated internationally; they have the meaning of gathering sustainable national unity and the strength of the entire nation.

Family representatives, the artist's sons and daughters expressed gratitude for the attention of the Party and State leaders, especially General Secretary and President To Lam, affirming that the family will continue to study and follow the artist's example to well implement the Party's policies and the State's laws.

Painter Bui Trang Chuoc, whose real name is Nguyen Van Chuoc, was born on May 21, 1915 in Phu Xa village, Phu Thuong commune, Tu Liem district, Hanoi. He graduated with honors from the Indochina College of Fine Arts in 1941. After graduating, he was invited to teach at the Dalat School of Architecture. After the August Revolution in 1945, painter Bui Trang Chuoc and his family moved to Hanoi and taught at the Hanoi School of Fine Arts. During the national resistance war, he went to Viet Bac to follow the revolution and taught at the Viet Bac Inter-zone School of Fine Arts.

In addition to teaching, artist Bui Trang Chuoc spends a lot of time creating art and is one of the talented artists of Vietnamese painting. He has created many works of artistic and practical value, rich in meaning. Sketches of the National Emblem, stamps, banknotes, landscape paintings, artistic sketches and many other aesthetic graphic works were meticulously drawn by him. His sketches of the National Emblem have been recognized as National Treasures.

In particular, artist Bui Trang Chuoc also has many valuable works about President Ho Chi Minh full of humanity and historical imprints, including works such as: the "Intercosmos" badge model and the portrait of "President Ho"; the Ho Chi Minh badge model, the poster of the 100th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday; the gouache painting frame of President Ho Chi Minh's portrait on the occasion of his birthday in 1970; the badge model commemorating the 81st anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday; the stamp model commemorating the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday; the money model with a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh; the design drawing of the facade of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum...
