According to Reuters, Thailand's Constitutional Court on August 7 ruled to dissolve the popular opposition party Move Forward because of its campaign to amend the law on insulting the Royal Family to protect the monarchy from criticism.

Thailand's Constitutional Court has ruled on a lawsuit to dissolve Move Forward after it ruled in January 2024 that the Move Forward party's campaign, which was later quashed, was unconstitutional and amounted to undermining Thailand's system of governance, in which the king is the head of state.
