On the morning of December 14, the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center held a seminar on "Improving the value chain of winter crops in Hai Duong province".
At the seminar, experts, businesses and managers informed and answered many questions from delegates about effective use of fertilizers, improvement of degraded soil, solutions to limit the use of pesticides on crops and policies to support the consumption of agricultural products, avoiding the situation of good harvest but low prices... Delegates also signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the production and consumption of winter crop products.
The report presented at the seminar showed that in the 2022-2023 winter crop, the whole province planted 22,005 hectares of various vegetables, exceeding the plan by 4.8%. The total output of winter vegetables reached 486,308 tons, an increase of 2,888 tons compared to the previous winter crop. The production value per hectare of winter crops reached 223.5 million VND/ha, an increase of 18 million VND/ha, more than twice as high as in the northern provinces.
In the 2023-2024 winter crop, as of December 10, the whole province has planted 21,455 hectares, exceeding the plan by 2%. Currently, more than 7,000 hectares of early winter vegetables have been harvested, reaching more than 30% of the total winter crop area planted. Productivity and selling prices are higher and more stable than the same period last year.
Previously, on the afternoon of December 13, delegates visited vegetable and carrot growing areas in Thai Tan and Nam Trung communes (Nam Sach).
