Major General Vu Van Dien, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Ho Chi Minh City Command, was appointed Commander of Ho Chi Minh City Command.

On February 14, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Military Region 7 held a conference to announce and hand over decisions on personnel work. Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung, Party Committee Secretary and Political Commissar of Military Region 7 chaired the conference.

According to the decision of the Ministry of National Defense, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command; Major General Phan Van Xung, member of the City Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command; Colonel Nguyen Cong Anh, Deputy Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, will retire from work until they reach the age of military service. The retirement period will be from March 1, 2025.

Appoint Major General Vu Van Dien, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Ho Chi Minh City Command, to hold the position of Commander of Ho Chi Minh City Command.

Along with that, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Trung, Political Commissar of the Military Command of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, was assigned to hold the position of Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command; Colonel Pham Nhu Quan, Political Commissar of the Military Command of Binh Phuoc province, was assigned to hold the position of Deputy Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command.
