On the afternoon of October 4 (ie August 20 of the lunar calendar), at Cao An Phu Temple, Kinh Mon town, a ceremony was held to commemorate the 723rd anniversary of the death of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan (1300-2023).
The memorial ceremony was held briefly but solemnly according to traditional rituals. Delegates and people offered incense at the Cao Temple relic, Tran Hung Dao monument, and performed a ceremony to worship Buddha, Saints and the Tran Dynasty Council.
Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan was born in 1228, was a person with great merit in the resistance war against the Yuan-Mongol army, bringing a prosperous period to Dai Viet country. His name and career are associated with Van Kiep land (now Kiep Bac temple), Hung Dao commune (Chi Linh city).
Cao An Phu Temple is the place to worship An Sinh Vuong Tran Lieu, the person who gave birth to and raised the National Duke, Commander-in-Chief Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan to become a national hero, both literary and martial. This is also the place where the Tran Hung Dao monument is located. Every year, in the atmosphere of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival, to commemorate the great contributions of Saint Tran, Kinh Mon town often organizes a ceremony to commemorate his death on August 20 (according to legend, the day Hung Dao Vuong became a Saint and returned to heaven).
