This is one of the activities in response to Global Road Safety Week in Vietnam in 2023.
The 7th Global Road Safety Week takes place from May 15 to May 21, 2023. In response to this week, the Hai Duong Provincial Traffic Safety Committee recommends that agencies, units, and localities deploy and organize many practical, meaningful, and appropriate response activities.
Accordingly, the police force continues to patrol, control and handle violations of road traffic order and safety; pay attention to handling speeding violations in urban areas, densely populated areas, motor vehicle drivers violating the road section, lanes of pedestrians, rudimentary vehicles, buses, etc.
The Department of Transport directs the review and improvement of safety conditions of road infrastructure, especially the system of median strips, lanes, and signals for non-motorized vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians; coordinates with localities to rearrange sidewalks and roadsides to prioritize pedestrian traffic; arrange and set up bus pick-up/drop-off stations. Strengthen the connection of public transport types; arrange areas for private vehicle parking, pick-up points for taxis, motorbike taxis (motorbike taxis) near stations and bus stops. Increase the frequency and improve the quality of intra-provincial and intra-regional buses and fixed-route and inter-provincial passenger buses.
Information agencies, newspapers, radio and television stations increase the time to promote activities in response to the 7th Global Road Safety Week, focusing on promoting and mobilizing people to participate in green - clean - safe traffic. Encourage people to change from traveling by personal motor vehicles to bicycles, public transport and walking to reduce the risk of accidents, traffic jams and environmental pollution; coordinate to promote events on the walking street (Hai Duong City).
Educational institutions with appropriate organizational forms respond to activities, propaganda, and dialogues in schools about activities and solutions to improve road traffic safety through actions of participating in green - clean - safe traffic; mobilizing students to voluntarily comply with traffic safety laws, actively and proactively participate in traffic by bicycle, electric vehicle, public transport and walking...
