Hai Duong ranked 11th in the country in economic growth in the first 9 months of 2024

The province's growth rate in the first 6 months of 2024 reached 9.81% but in the third quarter it decreased to 8.32%. The reason is that Hai Duong was directly affected by storm No. 3 and the floods after the storm, causing damage to production and business activities.

In the first 9 months of 2024, the growth of the province's sector I (agriculture, forestry and fishery) is estimated at 3.4%. In the third quarter alone, it increased by only 2.37% due to a decrease in the crop sector, while livestock and fishery maintained a fairly high growth rate. According to the assessment, storms not only affected the growth of sector I in the third quarter but also continued to slow down the growth rate in the fourth quarter and early 2025.

Growth in sector II (industry and construction) is estimated at 12.32%, with the third quarter alone increasing by 10.19% because storms disrupted some production activities and caused property damage, reducing revenue of some businesses.

Sector III (services) grew by an estimated 6.58%, with a 6.08% increase in the third quarter. Commercial activities were less affected by storms but there were still times when goods were scarce. Services such as transportation, accommodation, food and beverage, entertainment, etc. saw a decrease in revenue.
