Strengthening biodiversity conservation and wildlife protection

The Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee has directed Hai Duong Newspaper, the Provincial Radio and Television Station, and mass media agencies in the province to increase reporting and broadcasting messages, reports, and bulletins to propagate laws on biodiversity conservation, control of invasive alien species, protection of endangered, precious, and rare wildlife species, and conservation of wild and migratory birds in Vietnam.

Officials, civil servants, workers and citizens must not participate in illegal hunting, catching, buying, selling, transporting, slaughtering, consuming, storing or advertising of wild animals or migratory birds. Do not raise, grow, buy, sell or release invasive alien species. Do not buy individual birds to release them because this is an act of assisting in illegal hunting and trapping of wild birds.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Market Management Department, the Provincial Police, the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to strengthen coordination in inspecting and regularly checking restaurants, wildlife breeding and trading facilities, wild bird markets, key cargo transportation routes, and ringleaders in hunting, catching, trading, transporting and consuming wild animals and migratory birds. Prevent illegal hunting, catching, trading, transporting and consuming and strictly handle violations of the law on the protection of wild animals, plants and migratory birds in Vietnam. Implement measures to prevent diseases originating from wild animals and migratory birds.

Assign the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Market Management Department, Provincial Police, relevant departments and branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to strengthen inspection and control of activities of raising, growing, trading and releasing invasive alien species into the natural environment, and strictly handle violations.
