After returning to his hometown to visit his biological father in Bac Giang, Nguyen Van Long invited some people to his house to eat, drink, and then go to karaoke. On the way back, due to a conflict, the rebellious son beat his father to death.
On November 26, the Criminal Police Department of Bac Giang Province Police announced that they were temporarily detaining Nguyen Van Long (born in 1991, residing in Phuc Xa Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi) for the crime of "murder".
Previously, at around 2:30 a.m. on November 23, the Criminal Police Department of Bac Giang Province Police received a report from Luc Nam District Police that Nguyen Van Long discovered his biological father, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc (born in 1969), dead in the corner of the yard, with many bruises on his body.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Criminal Police Department deployed forces, presided over and coordinated with Luc Nam District Police and professional units of the Provincial Police to conduct a crime scene investigation, autopsy and verification.
Using professional measures, at around 10 o'clock, the authorities struggled to clarify and persuade Nguyen Van Long to surrender for the act of "murder".
The investigation results determined that Nguyen Van Long was living and working in Hanoi. On the afternoon of November 22, Long returned to his hometown in Trieu village, Dan Hoi commune, Luc Nam district to visit Mr. Phuc. In the evening, Long and Mr. Phuc invited some relatives to their house to eat and drink wine, then went to the house of Mr. Nguyen Van Tam (born in 1971) in the same village to sing karaoke and continue drinking beer.
At around 10:30 p.m. the same day, Long drove Mr. Phuc home. On the way home, a conflict arose between the two, so Long repeatedly hit Mr. Phuc in the head, chest, abdomen, and arms. When he got home, Long continued to beat Mr. Phuc, causing his death.
