According to former Deputy Chief Justice of the Hanoi People's Court, Truong Viet Toan, the abolition of the death penalty for eight crimes as proposed by the Ministry of Public Security is a step in line with Vietnam's deep international integration process.

Expected to amend 8 articles of the Constitution, to be completed before June 30

According to the National Assembly Standing Committee, the scope of this amendment and supplement is expected to only involve about 8/120 articles of the 2013 Constitution and must be completed before June 30.
Continue to research and amend regulations on the authority to issue legal documents at the commune level.

When the district level is abolished, the commune level needs the power and tools to carry out management and development in the area. The commune level being able to issue legal documents is a necessary condition.
