A Silicon Carbide furnace leaking hot steam caused a worker in Hai Duong to suffer severe burns leading to his death.

On the afternoon of June 6, a representative of the Kinh Mon town government (Hai Duong) said that the police are investigating and clarifying the cause of an accident in a factory that left one worker dead.
Previously, at around 6:50 p.m. on May 29, a serious work accident occurred at the Silicon Carbide raw material smelting furnace of Tan Ha Kieu Joint Stock Company (located in Minh Tan ward, Kinh Mon town).
At that time, four workers of this company removed the furnace grate to take out the silicon carbide material. During the work, the furnace leaked hot steam, causing Mr. Cao Quoc H. (born in 1972) to suffer minor burns and Mr. Hoang Van A. (born in 1986) to suffer severe burns all over his body.
Both workers were taken to Kinh Mon Town Medical Center, then transferred to Le Huu Trac National Burn Hospital for treatment. On June 4, due to the severity of his injuries, Mr. Hoang Van A. died.
Mr. Tran Khac Quyen, Chairman of Minh Tan Ward People's Committee, informed that the police and relevant agencies are actively investigating to clarify the cause of the incident.
