The conference was attended by leaders of the General Department of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Tourism; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 8 expanded Northwestern provinces; provinces cooperating with Son La province for development; tourism associations; over 30 tourism businesses, travel agencies, tourism cooperatives...

In recent years, Son La has built tourism products based on the potential and strengths of natural resources and unique ethnic culture. These are eco-tourism, resort and community tourism models associated with agriculture. Many tourist areas and spots have created attractiveness to attract domestic and foreign tourists such as: Moc Chau National Tourist Area, Bach Long Glass Bridge; Moc Chau Night Market; Quynh Nhai and Ngoc Chien Tourist Areas; Pha Din Top tourist spot, dinosaur spine, Ta Xua cloud hunting...

In particular, in 2022, Moc Chau National Tourist Area was honored by the World Travel Awards as "The World's Leading Regional Natural Destination". The number of tourists to Son La is constantly increasing. In 2022, the number of tourists to Son La is estimated to reach 3.3 million, with revenue estimated at nearly 3,000 billion VND. In the first 5 months of 2023 alone, the number of tourists coming here is estimated to reach more than 2 million, with total revenue reaching more than 2,000 billion VND.

At the Conference, delegates discussed, shared and exchanged expertise to develop professional and differentiated tourism products; forming new tourism products and tours, contributing to the overall development of Vietnam tourism as well as the localities in the extended Northwest region, including Son La. Delegates also frankly presented solutions and linkage orientations to promote the attractiveness of the world's leading regional natural destination, promoting the brand of Moc Chau National Tourist Area to spread more and more widely domestically and internationally.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province hopes to continue receiving the attention and support of the General Department of Tourism in tourism development activities; especially support in completing the 4 missing criteria and building a dossier to recognize Moc Chau National Tourist Area in 2023; put the province on the list of areas with potential to develop into a national tourist area, support in promoting tourism products...

Domestic tourism agencies, units, associations and businesses continue to exchange and share information and experience in organizing communication programs; promoting and calling for tourism investment; forming new tours in Son La and the whole country.

Deputy Director of GBest Vietnam Joint Stock Company (Hanoi) Do Thi Mai said that Moc Chau, Son La has been and will continue to be a potential destination for travel agencies to develop different products; attracting domestic and international tourists to visit, experience and relax. Moc Chau has beautiful weather and nature, preserving many original features in the customs, traditions and culture of ethnic minorities, attracting tourists to learn and experience.
