On the morning of November 29, the Legal Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council worked with the People's Court and the Provincial People's Procuracy on the work results in 2024.
Reporting at the meeting, the representative of Hai Duong Provincial People's Court said that from October 2023 to the end of September 2024, the two-level court of Hai Duong province accepted 6,444 civil cases and resolved 6,233 cases and resolved (reaching 96.7%).
Compared to 2023, the number of cases accepted increased by 86 cases and the number of resolved cases increased by 164 cases.
According to the assessment of the People's Court of Hai Duong province, civil cases are mainly disputes over property ownership, inheritance rights, and land use rights.
The main causes of marital and family disputes are disagreements between husband and wife in their views on life or one party is abroad, lacks attention to each other, and does not agree on family financial spending.
Currently, the number of lawsuits brought to court is increasing and becoming more complex.
The parties are in different localities, and are intentionally absent and uncooperative abroad, making it difficult to handle the case. Many people abroad ask relatives at home to handle the divorce proceedings.
According to the report of the Provincial People's Procuracy, the number of drug crimes, crimes against property, economic and environmental crimes, and crimes against social order and safety have all decreased.
At the meeting, the leaders of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Department shared the difficulties of the agencies when the number of cases increased; at the same time, they requested the agencies to focus on mediation in resolving civil cases and matters, creating conditions for the parties to reach agreements on issues of conflict and dispute.
The reports of the Provincial People's Court and the Provincial People's Procuracy will be considered at the 28th Session of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council from December 9-11.
