In the first quarter of 2024, the traffic accident situation in Hai Duong became complicated, increasing in all three criteria: number of cases, number of deaths and number of injuries.
Specifically, in the first quarter, there were 215 traffic accidents and collisions in the province, killing 53 people and injuring 180 people. Compared to the same period in 2023, there was an increase of 141 cases, 8 deaths, and 133 injuries. Traffic accidents mainly occurred on roads; there was 1 railway accident that killed 1 person; 1 inland waterway accident, with no casualties.
Hai Duong city, Chi Linh, Kim Thanh and Cam Giang districts have the most traffic accidents. Nam Sach, Thanh Mien and Gia Loc districts have the least traffic accidents.
Notably, traffic accidents involving children under 18 years old increased with 37 cases involving 60 children, accounting for 17% of the total number of traffic accidents.
