Lightning strikes 2-storey house on fire in Thai Nguyen

On the evening of June 8, a representative of the People's Committee of Gia Sang Ward, Thai Nguyen City, Thai Nguyen Province said that a lightning strike had just occurred in the area and burned down a house.

According to this leader, the fire broke out at around 8:00 p.m. on June 8 at a 2-story house at Gia Sang intersection, Gia Sang ward.

"The incident did not cause any human casualties, some household items were damaged. The house where the fire broke out is currently running a hair washing and massage business in the area," informed the leader of Gia Sang Ward People's Committee.

Immediately after receiving the news, Thai Nguyen Provincial Police dispatched 3 fire trucks and many soldiers to the scene to control the fire. By about 20:30 the same day, the fire was completely extinguished.

Authorities determined that the house was struck by lightning that hit the electrical system on the second floor, causing the fire.

In recent days, many localities in the North have recorded lightning. Among them, on June 5, a woman in Thanh Tri (Hanoi) was struck by lightning while cutting vegetables in the field and is currently in critical condition.

Authorities recommend that when there is heavy rain and thunder, people should turn off electrical appliances in their homes or use lightning arresters to protect the safety of their belongings and human lives.

In addition, people need to regularly update weather forecast information to proactively take precautions; comply with safety regulations when participating in outdoor activities, especially in bad weather conditions.
