As a reporter covering Cam Giang district for 3 years, I was very saddened to witness many relics in this locality increasingly degraded over time.
I have proactively carried out and coordinated with colleagues to write articles to affirm the value as well as the necessity of restoring and embellishing the relics. One of them is the article “Giam Pagoda in disrepair”.
The article was published in Hai Duong newspaper on the weekend of November 20, 2020. By November 27, 2020, Cam Giang district had organized a delegation to inspect the current status of the relic to advise and propose to superiors permission to renovate and embellish the project. At the end of 2022, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee approved the investment policy for the project to renovate and embellish the special national relic of Giam Pagoda. The total estimated cost of the project is more than 31.2 billion VND, drawn from the district, commune and socialized budgets. The project implementation period is from the end of 2022 to the end of 2024. Up to now, the renovation and embellishment of Giam Pagoda is being carried out.
