According to information from the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Da Bac district (Hoa Binh province), at around 0:05 a.m. on September 8, a landslide occurred in the area, causing a house to collapse, killing 4 people and injuring 1 person.
Accordingly, at the above time, in Cham hamlet, Tan Minh commune, a large amount of rock and soil from the top of the hill collapsed completely, completely destroying the house of Mr. Xa Van S.'s family (born in 1973). There were 5 people in the house buried.
Authorities determined that four family members were killed and Mr. Xa Van S. was injured.
The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Da Bac district informed that from the afternoon of September 6 to the night of September 7, due to the influence of storm No. 3, moderate and heavy rain occurred over a wide area in the district, accompanied by strong gusts of wind.
The impact of storm No. 3 caused 24 houses to have their roofs blown off and trees to fall on them, including: Tu Ly commune 1 house, Toan Son commune 5 houses, Tien Phong commune 6 houses, Yen Hoa commune 3 houses, Vay Nua commune 4 houses, Cao Son commune 2 houses, Yen Hoa commune 1 house, Tan Pheo commune 2 houses.
In addition, over 25 hectares of rice, corn, cassava, acacia, and bodhi trees were broken and fell in Vay Nua and Cao Son communes. Strong winds sank 4 boats and 3 fish cages in Tien Phong commune; and knocked down and broke 4 electric poles in Toan Son, Hien Luong, and Tu Ly communes.
In addition, landslides occurred on Highway 433, Hoa Binh City section through Toan Son Commune and the roads of Truc Son Hamlet, Ranh Hamlet and Phu (Toan Son Commune). In particular, the Men Hamlet Road (Yen Hoa Commune) to Doan Ket Commune had about 200 cubic meters of rock and soil eroded with a length of 100 meters.
