The National Assembly has just decided to add to the 7th Session Agenda the content of dismissing General To Lam from the position of Minister of Public Security.
At the beginning of the working session this afternoon, May 21, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong presented a Proposal to adjust the Program of the 7th Session.
The report stated that, based on the opinions of competent authorities, implementation of legal provisions and practical requirements for perfecting the State apparatus, after considering the Prime Minister's proposal, the National Assembly Standing Committee proposed that the National Assembly allow the addition of the content to approve the Prime Minister's proposal on the dismissal of the Minister of Public Security and plans to arrange for the National Assembly to carry out this content along with the content on personnel work at the sessions on the afternoon of May 21 and the morning of May 22.
Immediately afterwards, the National Assembly voted in favor of adjusting the Program of the 7th Session with 468/469 delegates participating in the vote in favor (accounting for 96.1% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).
As reported, at the 9th Conference (taking place from May 16-18), the Central Committee highly agreed to introduce Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, General To Lam, to be elected by the 15th National Assembly to hold the position of President for the 2021-2026 term.
