Of more than 20,000 candidates taking the thinking assessment test, 20 scored above 90/100, double last year's score.

On the morning of June 20, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the score distribution of the 2024 Thinking Assessment (TSA) exam for 6 exam sessions.

Each candidate usually takes the exam twice and the highest score is used for admission. The average score of candidates is 53.1, higher than last year (51.52).

The percentage of candidates scoring over 70 points is nearly 9%. At the 80-point mark, this percentage is about 0.9%. This year, 20 candidates scored over 90 points, while last year there were only 7.

The top scorer of this year's thinking assessment exam, with 96.43 points, is a student at Tay Thuy Anh High School (Thai Binh).

Hanoi University of Science and Technology expects the minimum score for assessing thinking for 64 training programs to be 50/100. Candidates can register unlimited admission wishes from July 17 to 30 on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The thinking assessment test was first organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2020 in the form of paper-based tests. Since last year, the test has been organized on computers.

The test consists of three parts: mathematics, reading comprehension, and science in a multiple-choice format, with a variety of question types: select the correct option, select true or false answers, fill in the answer, drag/drop the answer. The total score of the three tests is 100.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that the exam questions follow the principles of measurement and assessment in education, and also apply the world's exam rules. The exam questions are highly classified, serving well the goal of university admission.

The thinking assessment test results are used by more than 40 universities and colleges for admission, with a common floor score of 50-60/100 points.
