Driver Tran Son D. (residing in Lai Chau City) was fined 35 million VND and had 10 points deducted from his driver's license for driving a passenger bus in the wrong direction on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway.
On the morning of February 16, a representative of the Highway Traffic Police Team No. 1 (Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security) informed that the unit had drawn up a ticket to fine the driver of a passenger car driving in the wrong direction on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway.
Accordingly, on February 15, a clip of a passenger car driving in the wrong direction on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway appeared on social media, causing traffic insecurity. After receiving the report, the unit sent officers and soldiers to investigate.
Through the surveillance camera system, the police identified the passenger car going in the opposite direction with the license plate number 25F-002.XX. The driver of this car was Tran Son D. (born in 1981, residing in Lai Chau city, Lai Chau province).
At the police station, driver Tran Son D. said that at 8:00 p.m. on February 14, he drove passenger car 25F-002.XX from My Dinh station (Hanoi) to Lai Chau. At km 78 (Toll station IC 10) of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, the driver drove the car in the wrong direction.
"When I realized I was driving in the wrong direction on the highway, I turned the car around to go in the right direction. I realized that my violation was wrong and endangered others," said driver Tran Son D.
Highway Traffic Police Team No. 1 issued a ticket to driver Tran Son D. for driving in the wrong direction on the highway. For this violation, driver D. was fined 35 million VND and had 10 points deducted from his driver's license.
