The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations awarded a commemorative medal to honor Mr. Park Hang Seo's contributions to Vietnamese football and the Vietnam - Korea friendship.
On the afternoon of May 9, on behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Union, presented the Medal for Peace and Friendship among Nations to Mr. Park Hang Seo, former Head Coach of the Vietnam National Football Team.

This is the most noble award of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations to honor his great contributions to Vietnamese football and the friendship and cooperation between the people of Vietnam and Korea.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga emphasized that the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Korea has developed strongly in recent times. The two countries have just celebrated the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.
The bilateral relationship was upgraded to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in December 2022. The bilateral relationship has become a model of success based on sincerity, political trust; dynamism in economic cooperation and deep attachment in people-to-people exchanges.
One of the important factors that made these achievements was the important contributions of people's organizations and many individuals of the two countries, including Mr. Park Hang Seo.

With his talent, experience and enthusiasm, he and the Vietnamese football team have made Vietnam famous in regional and international arenas: AFF Cup 2018 Champion, two Gold Medals in Men's Football at two consecutive SEA Games (SEA Games 30 in 2019 and SEA Games 31 in 2021), U23 Asia 2018 Runner-up, 4th place in Asiad 2018, ASEAN Cup 2019 quarter-finals and for the first time entered the third qualifying round of World Cup 2022.
