According to many experts, the cosmetic industry is gradually losing potential customers because of frequent accidents and complications, from mild to severe.
In fact, the cases we know about through the media are just the “tip of the iceberg”. Every day and in many places, there are more accidents and complications than we know, but the victims often do not want to be “famous” so they have to endure in silence.
Many tricks, many plans
In addition to consulting friends, beauty customers often rely on the internet and social networks to learn about the facility and doctor they intend to trust. Beauty facilities understand this, so they take full advantage of online advertising channels to promote their services. The advertising budget can be up to several dozen percent of revenue. In particular, the communications and marketing department is indispensable for a beauty facility, this department can have up to several dozen employees working for large facilities, including the following departments:
Material production department:Take photos, record videos, edit photos and videos before and after surgery to make them beautiful but not revealing.
Content department:Specializing in writing advertising content, the "professional" requirement is to write impressively and attract customers.
Communications Department:Specialized in posting information. Their job is to make advertising information appear at the top of social networks and search engines.
Interactive parts:Each staff member is in charge of dozens of fake accounts to join groups and then post positive comments.
Online sales and telesales department:Well-trained, memorized answers to specific situations when potential customers are wondering, worrying and asking questions. This department is assigned an important task: attracting online customers to the facility so that the on-site consulting team can "close the deal".
The revenue of a beauty salon depends heavily on communication and marketing. Therefore, there are beauty salons that stop spending their budget on advertising and customers stop coming. On the contrary, if they advertise a lot and have a lot of customers, it is not certain that the facility will be successful. Cosmetic doctors, in addition to knowledge and experience, need to be in good health, plus have a clear mind and be interested in the "work" they will "create". Therefore, if you see a beauty salon where the doctor is too busy, it is not necessarily a good sign! Or if you see a beauty salon boasting: "Today is very busy because there are many customers, the doctor works without rest", then we should avoid it, because either it is a lie or there are many accidents and complications.
The “Matrix” of Language
Regarding the language used in advertising, cosmetic surgeons themselves are sometimes confused when they hear the name of a new "technology" appearing, and upon investigation, they find that it is a new "invention" of the marketing - advertising industry to lure gullible customers!
Here are some of the “new technologies” that cosmetic facilities have “invented”:
Endoscopic eyelid surgery
People in the profession will laugh when they hear this method. No doctor uses endoscopy to cut eyelids! We often understand endoscopy as a modern, precise, safe technique… this is true, but only applies to surgeries performed in a certain cavity of the body such as the abdominal cavity, chest cavity.
6D Eyelid Surgery
About 10 years ago, there was no concept of “D”, but simply eyelid surgery. Then a very smart facility launched the name “3D eyelid surgery” which made customers think that 3D was a new technology that had just been transferred to Vietnam, which must be better than no “D”. In the end, it was just cutting off excess skin and removing fat pockets, but customers had to pay quite a bit more for the new “technology”. Then, to compete, other facilities launched “exclusive 4D eyelid surgery technology” and then another beauty salon launched 5D, now 6D.
Knowing that customers are afraid of pain and scars, many places advertise “eyelid cutting technology with absolutely no scars or swelling”. That cannot be true. If the skin is cut, there will be scars, bleeding and swelling to some extent.
There are many other “fancy” names for eye aesthetics, but we should pay attention: no matter what the name is, it is just removing excess skin and fat from the eyelids.
Super structural rhinoplasty, 6D structural rhinoplasty, Surgiform rhinoplasty technology...
Whatever the name, rhinoplasty is the use of artificial materials (silicon, ePTFE, PCL...) or a combination of autologous materials (ear cartilage, rib cartilage...) to implant the nose to create a new shape. The more luxurious the name, the newer the concept, the more money the customer has to pay; and the risk can be higher because it is performed at an unscrupulous facility.
Multi-layered skin regeneration
This “technology” is being exploited by many skin care facilities. We often understand “multi-layer” as from deep to shallow layers, so multi-layer skin regeneration means that the skin will be rejuvenated and beautified thoroughly, which is certainly better than the old methods that only beautify the outermost layer of skin. The nature of this method is still to use old techniques including machines, cosmetics, thread implants, injections... to rejuvenate the skin.
Fresh collagen implantation
Everyone knows that collagen plays a very important role in maintaining the skin's elasticity and firmness. We should remember that collagen implanted into the skin will be immediately rejected by the body because it is a foreign protein to the body (allergy is a sign of rejection). The essence of this technique is to inject or roll needles to introduce some nutrients (not collagen) into the skin with the desire to make the skin more beautiful.
Skin regeneration enzyme implantation
Enzymes that are implanted into the skin also cause allergies and are rejected because they are foreign proteins. Beauty salons also advertise that “enzymes are extracted 100% from herbs so they do not cause allergies or side effects”. Any foreign protein implanted into the body will cause allergies, regardless of whether it is of animal or plant origin.
Plant-based silicone implants
This is a fairly new “technology”, the product is implanted into the skin to make it plump. Silicon is a 100% industrial product, not found in plants. This advertising content is completely unscientific but it is “new” so it attracts customers’ attention.
Gold thread
Perhaps the word “gold” comes from the “gold” on the packaging of a manufacturer of biological threads. From here, some beauty salons advertise 24k and 18k gold thread implants at a cost of hundreds of millions, but in reality, it is just normal biological threads.
Breast augmentation without stitches, Nano Chip 4D breast augmentation, Endos breast augmentation without bleeding, painless liposuction...
Advertisements often contain words and concepts that seem to be a breakthrough, modern, exclusive medical advancement... and are often associated with a developed country such as America, France, Japan, Korea, or with a scientist who was born by the cosmetic facility itself.
A collection of cosmetic service names that we see today, most of them are embellished, made up, distorting the medical nature, even fabricated to take advantage of the gullibility of customers. Therefore, to avoid losing money when beautifying, customers should look for information from reliable and verified sources.
