Active recruitment and job search activities

Regarding the labor market in Hanoi, in July, the Hanoi Employment Service Center estimated the recruitment demand for about 58,585 positions. Based on the survey and collection of information on 13,181 vacant jobs from more than 2,800 enterprises, the recruitment demand focuses on the following industries: Wholesale, retail and other service activities; followed by the manufacturing - construction industry; and education and training.

Businesses have the highest recruitment needs for service and sales staff positions, followed by office assistant positions.

The bright spot is that the tourism industry is recovering strongly after a long period of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Domestic tourism and international visitors are continuously growing well, creating conditions for businesses to boost recruitment needs to restore business operations.

Labor recruitment demand in July in the tourism, restaurant and hotel sector accounted for about 5.72%, with over 500 vacant jobs.

According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, July is also the time when job-hunting activities are most active, as it is the end of the school year and students graduating from colleges and universities in the city will start looking for jobs. This creates opportunities for businesses to recruit young, high-quality human resources, but at the same time creates competitive pressure in the labor market.

Commenting on the labor market situation in Hanoi in the coming time, the Hanoi Employment Service Center said that it is forecasted that some industries will have high recruitment demand such as: Wholesale, retail; professional activities in science and technology; processing and manufacturing industry; tourism, accommodation, food and beverage, arts, entertainment...

However, there are some industry groups that are forecast to see a decrease in recruitment demand, such as: real estate business activities; finance, banking, insurance activities; administrative activities and support services.

In Ho Chi Minh City, in the second quarter, the city needs about 75,400 to 77,100 workers. Of which, the human resource demand of 4 key industries needs about 12,300-12,500 positions, accounting for 16.8% of total demand.

Specifically, the electronics - information technology industry accounts for 6.42%, mechanics accounts for 4.59%, food processing accounts for 3.08%, and pharmaceuticals - rubber accounts for 2.71%.

According to the Center for Human Resource Demand Forecasting and Labor Market Information of Ho Chi Minh City, in addition to professional qualifications, workers need to proactively equip themselves with good vocational skills and soft skills to quickly adapt to market changes and find more opportunities for self-development.

Enterprises need to develop long-term recruitment plans linked to the unit's production and business plans, and have clear, transparent and attractive salary and bonus policies for employees.
