Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, Chairman of the Trade Union of the University of Foreign Languages (Hanoi National University), said that this year, the school's staff and lecturers received Tet welfare benefits ranging from 10 million to nearly 20 million VND, higher than last year.
Specifically, according to internal spending regulations, the school pays a total of 4 million VND/person in benefits for official staff and lecturers; and 3 million VND/person for those with labor contracts.
In addition, each staff and lecturer will receive a 13th month salary (depending on each job position) and some payments during the year such as overtime teaching, emulation and rewards multiplied by a coefficient. “Teachers who achieve Emulation Fighter status at the ministry level will be multiplied by a coefficient of 2.5; those at the Hanoi National University level will be multiplied by a coefficient of 2; those at the grassroots level will be multiplied by a coefficient of 1. Teachers who achieve Advanced Labor status will be multiplied by a coefficient of 1. This bonus is not actually a Tet bonus but is paid at the end of the fiscal year, so it is sent to staff and lecturers on this occasion,” said Mr. Doan.
Thus, according to Mr. Doan, the lowest bonus received by the school's staff and lecturers on the occasion of Lunar New Year was nearly 30 million VND; the highest was up to 70 million VND. Last year, the lowest bonus received by staff and lecturers was about 27.5 million VND.
“Lecturers who are contract workers are also entitled to benefits according to the competition coefficient. Because when competing, regardless of whether they are on the payroll or on a labor contract, lecturers will strive and be given an equal mechanism and fair benefits,” Mr. Doan shared.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong, Chairman of the Council of the University of Transport, said that this year, the school distributed welfare money to each staff and lecturer on average more than 20-22 million VND, equivalent to last year's level.
In addition, employees will also receive additional income as the 13th month salary in 2024 depending on the coefficient and position of each person, ranging from 5 to 7 million VND.
Thus, the amount of money that lecturers at the University of Transport received on the occasion of Lunar New Year was 25 - 30 million VND. According to Mr. Chuong, these amounts were also the result of good implementation of the spending savings plan.
Representative of Hanoi University of Industry said that this year, the school supports welfare and Tet bonuses for staff and lecturers from 26 to 29 million VND. Staff and lecturers who complete their tasks well will receive 26 million VND; those who complete their tasks excellently (only accounting for 20% of the total number of staff and lecturers) will receive 29 million VND. This level of welfare support is not decentralized or based on position.
“This level of welfare is based on task assessment. All subjects are equal, without distinction between cadres, lecturers, and employees,” he said.
According to her, the amount of money spent on bonuses for staff and lecturers is all balanced by the school, as it is 100% self-sufficient.
