To commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, many places of worship in the province such as Dong Thuan Pagoda, Dong Cao Pagoda (Hai Duong City), Tuong Van Pagoda, An Sinh Ward (Kinh Mon)... have set up altars and performed memorial ceremonies for the General Secretary.
At exactly 7:00 a.m. on July 25, the memorial service for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was solemnly co-organized by the Executive Committee of the Provincial Buddhist Sangha at Dong Cao Pagoda and Dong Thuan Pagoda (Hai Duong City).
At Dong Cao Pagoda, the memorial service was attended by leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Department of Home Affairs, Provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee; monks, nuns, and Buddhists.
Delegates, monks, nuns and Buddhists chanted sutras and prayed for the deceased according to traditional Buddhist rituals in memory of the General Secretary.
Previously, on July 23, the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha instructed the executive boards of provinces, cities, institutes, pagodas... to organize memorial ceremonies for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha requests the Venerables of the Central Committee, the Central Institute, and the Executive Committees of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in provinces and cities to organize a memorial service and set up an altar to worship the portrait of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in a sacred place for monks, nuns, Buddhists, and people to chant sutras and burn incense in memory.
