Joining the army, the sacred responsibility of youth

In the exciting atmosphere of the new spring, thousands of young people in Hai Duong province are enthusiastically following in their fathers' footsteps and joining the army.

Although different in conditions and circumstances, each person has within them a spirit of volunteerism, a will to train and contribute. Because young people, regardless of time or generation, are all aware that protecting the Fatherland is the sacred responsibility and duty of every citizen. Whenever the Fatherland is invaded, young people are always the vanguard force on the front line against the enemy. History has proven that in the resistance wars against colonialists and imperialists, under the leadership of the Party, generations of young people with the desire to contribute, are ready to join the army and sacrifice for the Fatherland. In peacetime, they are ready to join the army with the common goal of contributing to protecting the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, protecting the peaceful life of the people. Participating in military service is also a way for young people to express their patriotism and deep gratitude to previous generations.

According to the 2015 Law on Military Service, all young men of the prescribed age, if they meet the health and moral requirements, must perform military service regardless of ethnicity, social class, beliefs, religion, education level, or occupation. However, in reality, there are still some young people and their families who do not have the correct awareness and do not fully understand their obligations and responsibilities; are afraid of the military environment, afraid of hardships... There are even individuals who deliberately try to avoid participating in military service. During the 2024 military recruitment season, Nam Sach district alone had 22 cases of violations of military service regulations such as not being present at the correct time and place of gathering stated in the military service health examination order without a valid reason... These are just a few individuals but they are sad events that need to be criticized and handled seriously.

In fact, in recent years, military recruitment in many localities has always received the support and consensus of a large number of young people of the right age and their relatives. Many young people are in particularly difficult circumstances; young people studying at universities and colleges; young people working in enterprises with high and stable incomes... but they are ready to put aside their dreams, ambitions, and personal plans to perform military service. There are even many young people who enthusiastically volunteer to join the military service when they are not old enough; when they are temporarily exempted or deferred...

According to statistics from the authorities, in 2024 alone, Hai Duong had over 200 young people volunteering to join the army. They have created a spirit of volunteering, ready to go on missions, serve the Fatherland and contribute to building the image of young people in the new era, dedicating their youth to the country and the people.

Participating in military service is an opportunity for each young person to practice and assert themselves. The military environment will also help each young person become more mature thanks to being taught and trained systematically and formally. "The army is a great school" for each young person to study and acquire knowledge of politics, military, culture, technology, profession, national defense, security, etc. Thereby, helping each young person to raise awareness, revolutionary consciousness, and foster a solid political stance against the distorted arguments, plots, and tricks of hostile forces to sabotage the Party and the State. Not only that, the army is also a collective environment, nurturing the spirit of solidarity and mutual love for each young person, so that they themselves can learn how to share, help, and love...

With the spirit of “when the Fatherland needs, the youth are ready”, the excellent children of Dong province have been and are fully prepared to join the army on February 25 (January 16). Each person more or less carries with them their own thoughts, feelings, and dreams, but above all, it is the pride and determination to excellently complete the tasks assigned by the Fatherland, contributing to further embellishing the glorious tradition of the heroic homeland of Hai Duong.
