Nguyen Thuy Linh returns to the top 20 in the world badminton rankings

According to the update of the world badminton rankings (November 28), tennis player Nguyen Thuy Linh rose 2 places to rank 20th. At the China Masters - a tournament under the World Tour Super 750 system of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), Nguyen Thuy Linh excellently defeated two strong opponents, Marin Carolina (ranked 5th in the world) and Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt (ranked 20th in the world). In the quarter-finals, the number 1 Vietnamese player lost to Kim Ga-eun (ranked 15th in the world).

Previously, Nguyen Thuy Linh had reached 20th place on the BWF rankings on October 24. This was also the highest position she had ever achieved in her career.

Nguyen Thuy Linh is accumulating points to aim for a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The athlete born in 1997 has continuously participated in major international tournaments this year and is currently ranked 14th in the Olympic qualifying rankings.
