Vietnamese people living about 140km from the conflict zone in Kursk province (Russia) said they were safe and their work was going on as usual.
In the context of the complicated conflict situation in the border area between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, about 100 Vietnamese workers at the "Hanoi" garment factory - the largest group of Vietnamese working near the conflict area in Kursk province - are still working hard to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
Located near the city of Zheleznogorsk, about 120km from the center of Kursk province and about 140km from the conflict area, the road leading to the “Hanoi” garment factory, where the largest number of Vietnamese people live and work in this province, is as peaceful as many other rural areas of Russia.
There is little sign of any conflict going on nearby, although military trucks can occasionally be seen moving along the main highway.
In the garment factory, three production lines are still operating as usual, workers are sewing and processing winter clothing items to supply the market on time. The workers are all trying to sew more products to have more income to send home.
Mr. Nong Minh Duc, from Cao Bang, has been working at the garment factory for two years. He said that work is still going on as usual - "the way it was before is the same now."
According to Mr. Duc, the Vietnamese people here are still working hard and the situation has been almost unchanged since the news of the war, "even this month's salary has increased higher."
Ngo Thi Thuy Quynh, from Soc Trang, has been working here for more than a year. She also said that when she first heard about the conflict, she was a bit worried, but everything was as normal as usual, "goods are still stable."
Dang Xuan Dang, from Tien Giang, said his family also called him when they read news about the war on social networking sites, but he also informed them, "Don't worry, because it's not much affected here."
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Bao, manager of the "Ha Noi" garment factory, from Dong Nai, said that the company's situation is still stable and growing with about 100 workers. They are still dedicated to their work and the company has not been negatively affected.
The Community Affairs Department of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation regularly contacts representatives of the Vietnamese community in Kursk province every day to update the situation of our people.
