Mr. Pham Ngoc Got's family donated nearly 130 square meters of residential land and spent nearly 100 million VND to rebuild the gate and surrounding wall.

These days, people in Hong Phong commune (Thanh Mien) are excited that the 2.2 km long road connecting provincial road 392B with the Chi Lang Nam-Hong Phong inter-commune road has been renovated. The road, which was degraded and narrow, has now been widened to 5.5 m, with sidewalks, signs, and full road markings.

With a total investment of nearly 20 billion VND, this budget is only enough for renovation. Therefore, Hong Phong commune was assigned by Thanh Mien district to carry out propaganda and mobilize households to voluntarily donate land to clear the land for road expansion. Implementing the policy of the superiors, Hong Phong commune has established committees and sub-committees to visit each household in need of land clearance to inform, propagate and mobilize.

While many households were still hesitant because they thought that any transportation project must have funds allocated for site clearance, Mr. Pham Ngoc Got's family in Thong Nhat village agreed and voluntarily donated nearly 130 square meters of their family's land for expansion. The large area of land, located in a prime location of the village, is very valuable. Mr. Got's family also spent nearly 100 million VND to rebuild the surrounding wall and gate after donating the land and demolishing the old construction.

With the exemplary leadership of Mr. Got and the families of cadres and party members, the movement to donate land to expand the road has received high consensus from the people. In just over 2 months, 125 households donated nearly 1,400m2 of residential land, voluntarily dismantled and rebuilt nearly 750m of walls and gates to serve the construction. In the village, only a few households in difficult circumstances were supported to rebuild the project. Notably, a local family even agreed to move the ancestral grave of more than 300 years to expand the road.
